Dead To Me

Linda Cardellini plays Judy, a highly neurotic nursing home volunteer who gets involved in a hit and run that leaves Christina Applegate’s husband killed. Riddled with guilt, Judy seeks out Jen (Christina Applegate) through a grief counseling group to cope and they become close friends.

James Marsden plays Cardellini’s douchey ex, who we learn is also complicit in the hit and run and makes every effort to cover their faults for his own selfish purposes. Eventually the investigation pertaining to the hit and run points to the two, but what goes down is simply just not expected.

This may seem like a tough view given the themes, but a lot of this show is highly witty and worth going through. The dialogue is sharp, and the performances of Applegate, Cardellini, and Marsden are nothing short of superb. There’s only ten episodes, so if you’re looking for a week’s commitment of viewing I think I found something for you here.
