Holy Sh*t - Notes on 2020, Vol. 10
I haven’t addressed this one yet, and have just been silently judging it, until now, but how about the people that aren’t wearing the masks properly? You know, the people who are wearing them below the nose, or are just letting them hang around their neck? Over the course of the last two days, I have been to a gas station, a deli, and a liquor store. Within each, I ran into an employee who was not wearing one the right way. And each instance carried with it its own type of ignorance.
I’ll start with the deli. Why the fuck would this gentleman serving me grilled chicken from behind the counter not be properly covering his face? In a place that sells food, why aren’t you being particularly careful with how you are carrying yourself? If he took a good look around his place of work, he would have seen rather clearly that every other individual working (and shopping) there was wearing their mask appropriately. The real confusion was: I already knew to expect this from such a man; my girlfriend’s mother had asked him to readjust his mask when helping her some weeks before. So it wasn’t that he was unaware. He was simply being an assface.
The gas station. My friend, I know it’s hot, but please—if you’re going to get right in my face when you ask me if I’m paying with cash or credit card, put that mask on appropriately. The nose was out once again in this instance, and at one point we were no more than ten inches apart. I don’t get it. Do some people in New Jersey still not know that that’s bad right now? You know, like, the opposite of good.
Then the liquor store, where one gentleman was reorganizing packs of beer in the refrigerators, mask hanging around his neck, mouth totally exposed. I tried to get his attention by glaring at him with all of the fiery Aries energy I could manage, but he had no idea I was even there.
Some people just can’t be helped.
Something else I wanted to talk about. Does anyone know which type of bipolar medication Kanye is prescribed? Is he taking it? Is he awaiting a refill? Someone please make sure that man takes his meds. We don’t need anyone in the throes of a manic episode holding rallies and campaigning for president. We really, really don’t need that right now.
