A DEA investigation begins in lieu of Cooper's involvement with One-Eyed Jacks and the Canadian cocaine trade. Cooper forfeits his badge and gun; he has been officially removed from his position until the investigation closes. This new predicament prompts the visit of federal agent Denise Bryson, formerly Dennis, played by David Duchovny in an amusing pre-X-Files role.

Nadine chases Mike after getting permission from Donna. She fails to recognize the significance of her marital status, a byproduct from her accident, and joins the wrestling team to be closer to her new crush.

Ben Horne appears to have begun to lose control of his own faculties as well. He holes up in his office, watching old family slideshows in a bathrobe.

James meets Evelyn at the Roadhouse, an affluent lonely wife who calls upon his services to fix her husband's antique car. Later, she offers him room and board at her home until he has finished the job, turning the seduction completely on.

Josie confesses to Truman about her involvement with the Packard Mill and the legal disputes therein; she owns up to manipulating him, as well as her secret marriage, before they appear to reinstate their affair.

Andy and Dick continue to compete for the affection of Lucy. In an effort of one-upmanship, Dick utilizes an orphan boy to show off his responsibility, but the plan backfires.
