On Golden Pond
Only Katherine Hepburn can flip someone off and make it look almost regal. And only Henry Fonda, who at the time was suffering from Alzheimer's, play a man struggling with the same condition and pull it off with actual humor.
The fact that these two held off acting opposite one another until the eighties is really a shame, because their chemistry is remarkable.
I wasn't sure whether I was going to enjoy this when I began watching, but the lines are so damn funny it was ultimately tough to resist.
On Golden Pond may not be a classic, but it is certainly entertaining, especially when daughter Jane Fonda arrives with her boyfriend and his young ornery son.
Not a lot going on here in the ways of action or suspense if that's more your speed; this is more of a character developing thing.
