Holy Sh*t - Notes on 2020, Vol. 6

Went to a barber today for the first time in five months so you know it was time for that; I was looking like Abbey Road-era John Lennon and it wasn’t a good thing. The hair-cutting experience during the time of COVID is a team effort; they need to cut around the mask. To assist your barber you detach the ear parts, holding the mask intact over your mouth, so that they may address the hair on the sides of your face. Considering who I said I was looking like, it was very much worth it. It also became way too hot to have so much hair.

Speaking of heat—remember when we used to hear suggestions about this summer’s humidity killing the strength of the virus? Well, COVID-panicked states like Arizona and Texas would vehemently contradict this, places where summer humidity is turned up to devil’s-armpit proportions. And why is Trump already telling the country he’ll cut federal funding if schools don’t go back into session? The man can’t plan. These traditionally red states may not be ready for that come August, and the president needs to be ready to accommodate that, as he will want those votes. I’m playing the devil’s advocate, by the way. I really don’t want him to get those votes. It’s just that for someone who is so self-interested, wouldn’t it make more sense to help these areas any which way he can? Just a thought.
