Holy Sh*t - Notes on 2020, Vol. 20
I wanted to talk about how unfortunate it must be to be Rudy Giuliani right now. With all due respect to the man’s condition—as the last time I checked, he was still recovering from COVID—he’s had a real shit year besides.
Let’s start with the incriminating stuff that has nothing to do with the president.
The new Borat film features a set-up interview with Giuliani and Borat’s teenage daughter, who poses as an aspiring student of politics. Nothing egregiously creepy transpires in this interview, but at the end of this segment, we see Giuliani lying on his hotel bed adjusting his pants, with the girl in the room. This might be okay, provided he hadn’t allowed the girl to drink booze in front of him while he was doing this. It all just…looks bad.
And then there’s the election-era Trump chronicles, in which we know Rudy has been regularly engaged. I suppose it’s no surprise that the lady whistleblower whose been getting a lot of media attention of late is seated right next to him in that video. This woman, in a highly publicized video clip from last week, can be seen demanding a list of legitimate voters at the Michigan State House. Her berating of the American voting system is highly amusing, and I strongly encourage everyone to Google this at your leisure. In my opinion, there is no Saturday Night Live writer that can top the laughs we’re already getting from this woman.
Speaking of laughs, need we forget about the Four Seasons Construction mix-up; someone did an intern a favor by terminating them following this mistake.
The transitionary period between election and inauguration continues to see the pandemic contaminating the White House, and considering how much Trump wants to be making public appearances right now, that’s an awful shame. Sorry, but did anyone think he’d be behaving presidentially following his election loss?
It’s simply amazing, the kind of political sportsmanship the man has exhibited; I was a better loser as an adolescent.
But more and more I’ve been finding that it isn’t about bitching about Trump’s Sore Loser Dramas in December 2020, because they take away from the priorities that are in front of us—the release of a viable vaccine, which is needed bad.
