A friend of mine told me yesterday that he wishes I’d write more of these ‘Holy Shit’ pieces. In response to that, I informed this gentleman that not only will he be getting more of these said pieces, but I will write on here every single day. Why not, I figured. Who knows, maybe there are others out there who wished the same.
Anyway, back to Trump and the United States’ identity crisis that characterizes last and this year.
So the Cheeto Guy is impeached a second time and McConnell and Pence posited themselves strategically to implement impeachment proceedings early in lieu of invoking the twenty-fifth amendment? Guys, this is what I’ve been wanting for some time. To me, Trump’s second impeachment is akin to purging our bowels of an overly spicy repast; we’re relieved, yet also feel the sting of an uncomfortable ordeal sustaining.
Although personally I considered him impeachable for most of his presidency, January sixth was an egregious betrayal of what it means to be Commander in Chief, and his subsequent denial of any responsibility for what happened may make him the most despised president in history—no matter what he and his ass-kissers claim he has done.
Oh, you upped the economy? You created jobs? We had some solid quarters on the stock market? Fucking cool. A lot of presidents managed to get that done. None of Donald’s work is that of a pioneer. The guy is so in debt and up to his balls in tax penalties it’s amazing he’s able to write a check that doesn’t automatically catch fire. He makes Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew look like Laverne and Shirley.
Biden may or may not set groundbreaking precedents during his term but I can promise you all he won’t stoop to the petty levels of Trump, Kushner, Ivanka, and William Barr.
I read something online about a woman who joined a dating app to meet MAGA guys who took part in the Capitol raid—in order to report them to the FBI. I call this progress.
Trump earlier in the week had the nerve to mention that his January sixth speech has not only been analyzed for content, but has exonerated him of any accountability for what happened last week. I just wanted to make sure you know he said that. I invite anyone to perform their own analysis, and let me know the findings.
The Trump administration was a fascist regime built on lies and deceit, and it is the darkest moment in Republican Party history. People who stand with Trump stand for sedition. For a man who swore to make America great again, it is only in his enablement of distancing himself from the political landscape and any sane, educated American citizen with sound moral competence. It is this sense that he in fact did serve to make America greater, but only by being ousted and declared unwelcome. It’s true, no?
He has undermined every American institution and public sector—state governments, our medical field, most military branches, and even the police. With respect to the latter example, which Blue Lives Matter supporter endorses Trump after last week? Do you want to give me a call? I’d love to hear from you.
In any offering I’ve let post here, I always try to lead with the idea I don’t claim to be supremely well-read on any current event, nor do I fancy myself a well-read scholar of civics. I write here for your entertainment. If you happen to agree with what I say, great. If you don’t, then that’s great too. Though I can’t imagine why you would want to subscribe to what is generally a written spanking of our irresponsible president and the people enabling his antics.
I think the larger problem for me at this time is what will happen when Biden becomes president next Wednesday. Will I still be to crank out these ‘Holy Shit’ observations in a way that you all will still like? And every day, as part my friend’s request? The answer at this time: I have no idea.
